Michael's wife wrote us with: "My name is Lina Johnson, and I'm writing to send two of my husband's poems. His name is Michael and he has been writing Christian poems since 1991, when he got to know the Lord Jesus and was born-again. He has written since then more than 850 poems...all spiritually inspired. I'm sending this poems hoping that they will a blessing to God's children. May God increase His blessing on your ministry." Thank you Michael and Lina for sharing with us!
SMOKE IN THE EYES
Upon a dream a tear fell A dream of life and light But what has now a child to tell Through smoke impeded sight As clouds of smoke caressed each thought As light bowed down its face What could reveal the true report? Behind its mask of lace Could beauty fill his aching heart? Could love caress his soul? Could Heaven joy this child impart? Could ever peace, make whole?
As tears embraced what God would share Pictures impaired through cloud Fading the world beyond all care Through silence’ foreboding shroud Great tears cascaded to the earth As smoke spiraled free The Light of God brought second birth Through faith on bended knee The child embraced Christ’s wondrous light Dismissed the smoky gloom Despair had lost to joy the fight Once love had filled the room Love’s joyous song rang loud and clear God’s light reigned firm and true The child now free of worldly fear Revealed his eyes of blue Now shining bright through grace and love Through gratitude and joy Gazing through faith to Christ above Stands now a brand new boy.

IN SEARCH OF LOVE
Whilst wandering blind, with heart of stone Through clouds of deep despair No love was found to call my own My burden none would share In search, I came to Zion hill I browsed God’s holy mound I know it was the Father’s will That I in Christ be found By grace I sat at Jesus’ feet Upon His arm I’d lean Like Ruth amidst the golden wheat I’d sought God’s love to glean For love I’d wandered far and wide With torn and aching heart Now with His Flame that burns inside Christ vowed He’d never part For me! Life’s Light came down to die Full God yet flesh and blood He gave to me what none can buy Beneath that cross of wood His cup is mine to drink at will His Spirit and His Flame He said for me to drink my fill To purge my filth and shame Today I smile where once I cried Such joy and peace I’ve found My Jesus wants me join His bride And live on hallowed ground God called before my mother’s womb Before the dawn of life I’m saved by grace from endless gloom To be my Saviour’s wife.
